Coming up with an idea and overall theme to a potential new business can be tricky. If you are lucky enough to have your head wrapped around what you want out of your bar, there are many more steps to follow before you can open. Here are a few.
Licensing
Getting your tabc licensing should be one of the first items on your to-do list. Your licensure is not something you want to do incorrectly. It is in your best interest to speak with a professional and make sure you are taking care of all the legal requirements to open a bar. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to hire a business lawyer who can ensure you are on the right track.
Find a Space
One of the next things that need to be done before making money is making sure you have a place to do so. You want to find a space that you can envision your aesthetic coming alive, and it helps if it is in an area that will welcome a lot of paying customers. Location can make or break a bar, so keep searching until you find the perfect spot.
Hire Staff
The staff you hire are going to be the people that interact with visitors the most, which means you have to find the right people for the job. Ideally, applicants with previous experience and those who can provide excellent customer service is a great way to start. As a business owner, you want to be on the same page with your team and be sure they embody the expectations you have put into place.
Starting a new venture can be overwhelming. Although the list of things to do is a mile long, the three items above are tasks that should be handled in the beginning stages. Remember, all good things take time!
